Tier 1 Technical Support Specialist

Our well established client based in Aberdeen is looking to recruit a Tier 1 Technical Support Analyst on a permanent basis.

Basic IT knowledge related to software installations, operating systems, ad trouble-shooting are essential for the position. Maritime knowledge is a strong advantage, but the right mind set with both analytical and decision-making skills are essential for success.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide client support via telephone and email
Prioritise support for product suite, including on-board software, shore-based system, digital charts and publications services
Start basic investigation of incoming problems via ticketing system
Support problem tracking databases
Maintain status and resolution records
Suggest improvements for better performance of the products and services when needed
Involvement in customer product set up including installation, introduction and training
Exhibit a flexible approach to working on a rota basis and provide necessary cover where needed

Essential requirements:
Good IT understanding related to software installations, operating systems and similar are required
Experience with Windows based platforms
Excellent written and oral communication skills with an emphasis on effective communications with customers, team members and management
Strong multitasking and organisational skills with an ability to work unsupervised
Monitoring and following the procedures and suggesting implementations to raise the quality of the products and services

Desired:
Maritime Navigation Services background
1-2 year IT studies including Database Management
Working experience on Customer Service/Technical Support front line environment
Technical knowledge of Digital Products
Experience with Navigational Systems and Programs, CRM systems or equivalent
